Derby (DAR-bee) is located in Central England.

1.) The first factory in the world was opened in Derby in 1721 by John Lombe, a silk merchant.
2.) Derby, as we know it today, was founded by King Edward the Elder in 921 as a bastion against the resurgence of Vikings in the East Midlands.
3.) In total, there are more than 300 existing green spaces in Derby, with one of the biggest and most popular being the city's arboretum, the fist publicly owned recreational park in all of England.
4.) Derby is a centre for advanced transport manufacturing, home to the world's second largest aero-engine manufacturer, Rolls-Royce.
