On Wednesday, September 18th, 2019 my adventure to Derby, England began. My dad and I spent the morning and early afternoon driving to Chicago, IL. After a long day of driving and traffic, WE FINALLY MADE IT!

I met Kellie and her mom at the airport at 2:00 pm and we immediately said goodbye. Then, we went through security. We waited for our gate for 2 hours and finally boarded our 5:10 pm flight. Our flight was 8 hours directly to London Heathrow. We arrived in London at 6:50 am on Thursday, September 19 and we were only supposed to wait until 9:00 am for our Airport Meet and Greet Service. However, we couldn't be picked up until 2:00 pm, so we waited in the airport for 7 hours (so basically another flight to London from the US). Then, our bus ride from London to Derby was 3 and a half hours long with multiple stops.

We FINALLY arrived in Derby at our flat and check-in took longer than expected. So, we didn't get to our room until 7:30 pm. Keep in mind, we'd been up over 39 hours at that point. After we settled in, we went to the co-op food store and bought some necessities. Then, I took a shower and dried off with my only towel (a kitchen tea-towel LOL) and put away the rest of my belongings.

Next stop... Day 2 and jet lag
